This pantry-staple marinade is perfect for steak, chicken, fish and even vegetables!
Guys! I’m excited to share this super basic, you-probably-have-all-ingredients-on-hand recipe! It takes like two minutes to whip up and you can use it on just about anything your heart desires!
I first ran into this tasty recipe when I was eating flank steak at my sister-in-law’s house in Oregon last December. Not only was the steak cooked to perfection thanks to the big green egg, the flavor profile was out of control! I loved it so much I couldn’t shut up about it, and Kathy told me it was actually a recipe her mom, Sandy, had given her many years ago. Sandy was there, and told me how she’d used it on allthethings in the past, and how they’d always turned out wonderfully. They promised to share the family recipe with me since I was officially a Brooks girl. 😉
Since then, I’ve used it on chicken more times than I can count. We’ve dumped it all over flank steak, let it marry with shrimp and tossed veggies with it before grilling. This all purpose marinade is sure to be a crowd pleaser!
- ¼ soy sauce (or tamari)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (white works, too)
- 1 tea garlic powder
- ½ tea salt
- ½ tea freshly ground pepper
- Mix all ingredients together and pour over desired food.
- Let marry for 30 minutes, or longer for deeper flavor.
Meal prep idea: put it in a freezer baggie, throw it in the freezer, and pull it out on a crazy week when you need a healthy, delicious entree!
